Television Broadcasting

The size of the television broadcasting segment is currently estimated at Rs. 30 bn and is estimated to grow to about Rs. 84 bn by FY2005 and Rs. 289 bn by FY2010.

Films

The current size of the films segment, in terms of costs, is estimated at Rs. 21.5 bn, with the industry budget increasing at about 15% per annum over the last 5 years. This segment is estimated to grow at 25% per annum to a size of about Rs. 66 bn by FY2005. The expansion in exhibition infrastructure is estimated at 12.5 screens per mn people.

Entertainment Industry

Entertainment exports are currently estimated by the industry at about Rs. 23 bn, and is expected to exhibit strong growth. The entertainment industry is expected to grow from its current size of Rs. 100 bn to Rs. 315 bn by FY2005.
